I work for
a company called NewGuard,
LLC, which has as one of its favorite clients Churchill Downs
and The Kentucky Derby websites.
Being a Louisville,
KY native, getting to work on these projects is a big honor, but
the coolest thing is my assignment for Derby Day (and The Kentucky
Oaks the Friday before).
The Kentucky
Derby attracts celebrities and dignitaries from around the world.
My task is to haunt what is called "Millionaire's Row"
at Churchill Downs (the exclusive ultra-expensive seats) with my
all-area access pass, grabbing quick videotaped statements from
any celebrity who will comment and whose bodyguards I can maneuver
around.
The whole
reason I started doing Ozzy (as a joke) was because so many people
at the 2002 Derby called out "Hey Ozzy!" to me while I
walked around among the real celebrities.
For the 2003
Derby, the client insisted I show up with my Ozzy gear and after
the Run for the Roses, I was forced to go out into the infield among
a hundred thousand drunks and was mobbed. Waving from Churchill
Down's balcony to the crowd below was a lot safer.
